Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a budget of Rs 50.65 lakh crore for FY 2025-26. According to the Budget document and CMIE Economic Outlook, there are big changes in how much money each ministry gets. Some ministries get a lot more, while others see major cuts.

Biggest Increases: Ministries with More Funds
- Ministry of Corporate Affairs:
- Budget increased by 972% from Rs 1,078 crore (2024-25) to Rs 11,561 crore (2025-26).
- Ministry of Coal:
- Budget increased by 255% from Rs 141 crore to Rs 501 crore. This boost aims to enhance coal production and ensure energy security.
- Ministry of Tourism:
- Budget increased by 199% from Rs 850 crore to Rs 2,541 crore. The focus is on tourism development, improving infrastructure, and promoting India globally as a travel destination.
- Ministry of Science and Technology:
- Budget increased by 167% from Rs 14,472 crore to Rs 38,613 crore. The government prioritizes research, innovation, and technological advancements.
- Ministry of Jal Shakti:
- Budget increased by 93% from Rs 51,558 crore to Rs 99,503 crore. The aim is to boost water conservation, provide clean drinking water, and support irrigation projects.

- Budget cut by 19% from Rs 25,277 crore to Rs 20,517 crore.
